Dr. Amy Kahn, director of diversity for University of the Rockies, will present at the Twelfth International Conference on Diversity in Organizations, Communities and Nations. Dr. Kahn will share progress on research efforts to clearly and consistently define diversity work within organizations. The conference is June 11-13 in Vancouver, Canada. Dr. Kahn’s research has been funded, in part, by a grant from Consulting Psychology Journal: Practice and Research, and is being conducted by a team including Dr. Kahn and Drs. Keri Heitner and Kenneth Sherman. Their project was among the first small grant award to be issued by the Journal. Three rounds of data collection have occurred and will be reported on at the conference. The results have revealed a consensus on the essential components of success in diversity work. Diversity researchers will be able to test this definition empirically through creation and validation of a new metric to measure the essential components of success in diversity work.
