Colorado Springs' Mayor Lionel Rivera has proclaimed May 5, 2008 as University of the Rockies Day. The Proclamation cites a decade of service provided by the University through its Master's and Doctoral programs in psychology, and the mental health services provided by its Switzer Community Counseling Center and Neuropsychology Center. In addition, the Proclamation acknowledges the University of the Rockies' contribution to local economic development and training of the area's workforce.
