University of the Rockies President Dr. Charlita Shelton to Moderate Panel at Black Enterprise Women of Power Summit on Feb. 17

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., Feb. 8, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Dr. Charlita Shelton, University of the Rockies president, will moderate "Embracing Change: How to Get Unstuck and Uncover Your Next Move" at the Black Enterprise Women of Power Summit on Feb. 17 in Orlando, Fla.

The seventh annual event, offering professional and lifestyle success strategies to executive women of color through an array of sessions and personal assessment workshops, is being held Feb. 15-18 at the Ritz Carlton Hotel.

The Embracing Change panel includes Eve Wright Taylor, vice president and associate general counsel, Miami Heat and American Airlines Arena; Marcea Bland Lloyd, senior vice president, chief administrative officer and general counsel for Amylin Pharmaceuticals, Inc.; and Kheri Holland Tillman, vice president, Trade Marketing & Sales Strategy, Heineken. Moderated by Shelton, the panel will address specific strategies to shake the doldrums and target one's next opportunity.

Dr. Shelton was invited to participate in the conference at Black Enterprise magazine's editorial board recommendation. "Dr. Shelton is a vibrant and enthusiastic leader with strong opinions, especially on diversity issues in higher education," the Summit program states.

With more than 20 years of professional experience in higher education, Dr. Shelton was named president of University of the Rockies, a graduate school specializing in social and behavioral sciences, in 2008. In 2007, she was selected by the Arizona Society of Human Resource Management as "Diversity Champion" for the state of Arizona. In 2010, she was named a Diversity Champion of the Year, by DiversityBusiness.Com, and received recognition as a "Women Worth Watching" by Profiles in Diversity Journal.
