University of the Rockies Delivers New Interface, Updated Features for Rockies Mobile Online Classroom App
Student requests fueled ideas for upgrades to Rockies Mobile Version 2.1

University of the Rockies has just released a significant update for Rockies Mobile app users on both Apple® and Android®-powered tablets. This online classroom app offers an expansive connection with the online learning experience to students and faculty of University of the Rockies, an academic institution owned by Bridgepoint Education, Inc. (NYSE: BPI). Prepared by Bridgepoint’s Mobile Classroom Product and Development Team, the update is already available for current Rockies Mobile app users and can be found online at rockies.edu.

The Version 2.1 mobile classroom update includes new student services, new classroom features and a new “just-in-time” course interface that delivers a weekly course overview containing an up-to-date view of students’ current coursework. Aesthetically, the look and feel of Rockies Mobile has been adjusted to reflect the University’s revised branding.

“Continuing improvements to the mobile classroom go hand in hand with support of our student body,” stated Dana LaFleur, director of Learning Architecture at Bridgepoint Education. “Just as important, this update delivers enhancements for Rockies Mobile that were specifically requested by regular users of the app.”

Noteworthy among the advancements incorporated in the update is the digital student ID (a.k.a. DSID), which gives students a method to identify themselves as college students. Students will also have access to their financial ledger card to better track specific account information, and individual discussion comments will be more readily identifiable by student and instructor thanks to revised post icons. Student and faculty input played a large part in the advancements delivered with Version 2.1, with large percentages of surveyed users requesting these improvements.

The Version 2.1 update for Rockies Mobile will be available through University of the Rockies’ website (rockies.edu), and from the Apple® store (apple.com/ipad/from-the-app-store/) and Android’s® Market (market.android.com/).
