Psychological Diagnosis Study App Now Available for Android, Apple Devices
"The client" was created by University of the Rockies and developed by Bridgepoint Education's Products Group, source of Rockies Mobile and Thuze etextbook platforms

The faculty and students of University of the Rockies, a social and behavioral sciences graduate school based in Colorado, have created an educational psychological diagnostic app. Called “The Client,” the app is now available to the public via Google Play and the Apple App Store.

This new app is expressly designed to test users’ knowledge of psychological disorders, using gamification of hypothetical patient background, history, and symptoms to describe more than 170 mental health disorders. Beyond mere recognition of ailments, The Client also challenges participants on the identification of treatment plans for each disorder.

The idea behind The Client started with University of the Rockies’ Dr. David Stephens, dean of the School of Professional Psychology, while the heavy lifting of development was done by the Products group at Bridgepoint Education, Inc. (NYSE: BPI). Rockies faculty and students served as subject matter experts throughout The Client’s development process, and Rockies students contributed to beta testing.

“It’s essential to expose psychology students at both the undergraduate and graduate levels to a wide variety of clinical symptoms and settings,” stated Dr. Stephens. “The Client provides its users with an engaging app that fleshes out many typical diagnostic situations, and allows those users to work with both the diagnosis and treatment planning process together. I believe this app is an excellent tool for enhancing students’ understanding of psychological diagnosis and treatment planning.”

The Client app is optimized for Android and iOS-powered smartphones, and will run on Android and iOS-powered tablets. It is available as a download for Android devices on Google Play and for Apple devices via the App Store in iTunes.
