University of the Rockies Receives Approval for Teach-Out Plan for Its Colorado Springs Location
Higher Learning Commission also approves relocation of the School of Psychology to Denver

The Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Schools and Colleges (HLC) has approved University of the Rockies’ plan for the teach-out of its Colorado Springs location. The HLC also approved the relocation of the University of the Rockies’ School of Professional Psychology to the University’s location at the Tabor Center in Denver, Colo.

In a letter dated July 14, 2014, the HLC’s Institutional Actions Council (IAC) concurred with the evaluation findings and approved the teach-out plan covering all programs delivered at the School of Professional Psychology’s current location in Colorado Springs, Colo., including the Doctor of Psychology, Master of Arts in Counseling, and Master of Arts in Psychology.

“We are pleased to be moving forward with the recommendations we received from HLC regarding the teach-out plan and relocation,” said Dr. Charlita Shelton, president and chief executive officer of University of the Rockies. “This will continue to be one of the many great University of the Rockies endeavors in the Denver area.”

The HLC is the accrediting body for University of the Rockies. It is a commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools and it accredits degree-granting post-secondary educational institutions in the North Central region of the United States.
