University of the Rockies Becomes Official University Sponsor of Mi Casa Resource Center
Mi Casa is one of the oldest and largest Latino-serving organizations in Colorado

University of the Rockies announced that it has increased its support for the Mi Casa Resource Center in 2015, becoming a corporate sponsor as well as Mi Casa’s official university sponsor.

In keeping with the University’s core value of diversity, University of the Rockies has been a long-time supporter of Mi Casa, which serves the Latino population of Denver with a mission of advancing the economic success of Latino families. The partnership between the two groups will benefit both organizations. Mi Casa will receive financial support as well as staff development opportunities from University of the Rockies and the University will receive internship opportunities for students in the psychology and human services programs. Additionally, this partnership will provide volunteer opportunities in the Denver community for Rockies employees.

“As a member of the board at Mi Casa and the vice provost at University of the Rockies, I am proud that we are sponsoring Mi Casa at this level,” said Dr. Amy Kahn. “Mi Casa is such an important resource to our community. Much like University of the Rockies, which expands learning opportunities for adult students, Mi Casa advances the economic success of working families by expanding opportunities for educational, professional, and entrepreneurial advancement throughout our community.”

“We are both thrilled and humbled that our long-standing partnership with University of the Rockies is extending into this new sponsorship level,” said Christine Marquez-Hudson, CEO/executive director of Mi Casa. “Having University of the Rockies as our official university sponsor will extend the reach of services that both organizations offer to the community.”

Mi Casa was recently honored at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Business Awards Luncheon as an exceptional community leader. Marquez-Hudson was also recognized as a Top 25 Honoree by the Colorado Women’s Chamber of Commerce.
