The book is scheduled for publication in October, 2009 by University of the Rockies Press and will be available through online book stores.

Humanistic Psychology challenges the medical model in psychotherapy and summarizes contemporary analyses and meta-analyses of psychotherapy research that make it clear "contextual factors" - not techniques - are the primary determinants of therapeutic effectiveness.

The book has received pre-publication endorsements from several leading psychologists and the foreword was written by Natalie Rogers, daughter of Carl Rogers, one of the most influential clinical psychologists of the past century.

Prospective students and others interested in Dr. Elkins' work, or any of the programs at University of the Rockies, are encouraged to visit http://www.rockies.edu or call 866-821-0124 for information.
