Robert Edelbrock Named Campus Director of University of the Rockies

 

Dr. Robert Edelbrock, an administrator and educator with more than 20 years of experience, has been appointed Vice President/Campus Director for the University of the Rockies (UoR).  Beginning on February 23, 2009, Dr. Edelbrock will oversee all services, processes, initiatives, and functions for the UoR campus in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

“Dr. Edelbrock comes to us with an abundance of higher education administration experience,” said Dr. Charlita Shelton, President of UoR.  “He brings with him a wealth of knowledge, and I am confident he will take our campus to the next level of quality, excellence and service.”

Recently, Dr. Edelbrock served as Interim Dean for Mira Costa Community College in Oceanside, California.  At Mira Costa, he supervised, directed and led strategic planning initiatives for the multi-campus learning institution.  In addition, he managed the school’s budget and supported efforts to enhance resource offerings and technological growth.  Prior to this, Dr. Edelbrock held numerous other executive positions including several years as Dean of Southwestern College in Chula Vista, California and, before that, Vice President of Ashland University in Ashland, Ohio. 

An educator himself, Dr. Edelbrock has taught graduate and undergraduate coursework for United States International University, as well as technical classes for the United States Marine Corps.  He has served as a consultant to six national advisory councils, has presented his research at a number of professional conferences, and has volunteered his time in leadership positions for more than a dozen committees and associations.  

Dr. Edelbrock received his Ph.D. in Education from United States International University, headquartered in Kenya, East Africa.  He received both his master’s degree in Education Administration and his bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Science from National University, headquartered in San Diego, California.
