University of the Rockies seeks new Dean

 

Reports to: Sr. Vice President/Chief Academic Officer The Dean of the Colorado School of Professional Psychology (COSPP) plays a central role in leading initiatives that advance the vision of the University of the Rockies and COSPP. The Dean is responsible for building a community of learning through collaboration with faculty, staff, students, and other partners. This position includes involvement in developing and overseeing all academic programs in COSPP. Requirements: 1. PhD, PsyD or EdD and licensed as a psychologist in the state of Colorado with minimum of 7 years of licensed clinical experience 2. Attention to detail and organizational skills required 3. Experience in recruiting, selecting, supervising and evaluating personnel 4. Experience in developing, maintaining, and implementing budgets 5. Teaching experience at the doctoral level 6. Experience serving on dissertation committees 7. Strong leadership skills 8. Experience or training in teaching in an online instructional modality 9. Ability to lead and effectively participate as a team member 10. Ability to work with diverse student, faculty, and staff populations Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Develops and implements programs in collaboration with the faculty 2. Reviews recommendations for faculty appointments to COSPP 3. Recommends the appointment of Core and Adjunct faculty 4. Evaluates faculty performance, utilizing in-classroom observation and written evaluations 5. Develops and implements, in concert with the faculty and the Academic Governance Council, the short- and long-range strategic plan for COSPP 6. Promotes diversity in faculty recruitment and excellence in faculty scholarship 7. Assists in the recruitment and training of faculty 8. Plans the annual faculty retreat 9. Oversees and assigns teaching schedules for COSPP faculty 10. Represents COSPP and the University of the Rockies in the local and national community at professional organizations 11. Oversees the Institutional Review Board for the University of the Rockies 12. Oversees assessment activities related to faculty and student performance at COSPP 13. Teaches at the University of the Rockies 14. Monitors and takes responsibility for the accuracy of content in the catalog, website, and marketing materials for COSPP 15. Oversees comprehensive examinations (?Comps I and II?) 16. Verifies and maintains the book list for each course 17. Supervises the Director of Clinical Training and Director of Neuropsychology Center 18. Supervises all Core and Adjunct Faculty, including enforcing expectations as outlined in the Faculty Handbook 19. Represents COSPP on the Academic Governance Council. 20. Serves as an advisor to students 21. Serves as dissertation chair and/or dissertation committee member, as appropriate, as outlined in the Faculty Handbook 22. Chairs and/or serves on various other committees as outlined in the Faculty Handbook 23. Plays a major role in accreditation efforts: The Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association and APA
