Brigadier General Dana H. Born will Deliver University of the Rockies Commencement Address

Brigadier General Dana H. Born, dean of faculty at the United States Air Force Academy, will deliver the keynote address to graduates during University of the Rockies largest ever graduation ceremony.

On August 20, University of the Rockies will confer 303 graduate degrees to students completing its on-campus or online programs.

“General Born’s education and career have closely aligned with University of the Rockies’ focus areas of psychology, human services and leadership,” said Dr. Charlita Shelton, president of University of the Rockies. “Her address will be a capstone event to our students’ educational journeys – complementing their studies and providing an inspiring look at what lies ahead.”

Born graduated with distinction from the U.S. Air Force Academy with a degree in behavioral sciences, and later completed her master’s degrees in both experimental and research psychology. She earned her Doctor of Philosophy degree in industrial and organizational psychology from Penn State University.

Born’s staff assignments have included assistant director for recruiting research and analysis in the Office of Assistant Secretary of Defense for Force Management Policy, aide to the secretary of the Air Force, and deputy chief of the Personnel Issues Team in the Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Personnel. She commanded the 11th Mission Support Squadron at Bolling AFB, Washington, DC, providing personnel, education and training, as well as family support to service members in the National Capital Region and around the world. Prior to her current assignment, Born was a permanent professor and head of the U.S. Air Force Academy’s Behavioral Sciences and Leadership Department.

Media is invited to cover the graduation event.
