Students From 30 States and Three Foreign Countries Travel to Colorado Springs for University of the Rockies Graduation
Ceremony to be Streamed Live via the Internet

University of the Rockies, a graduate school specializing in the social and behavioral sciences, will hold its largest graduation in history at 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 20, at the Pikes Peak Center in downtown Colorado Springs.

The 312 graduates – the largest class since the university was founded in 1998 – include 293 master’s degrees and 19 doctorates. The total surpasses the previous record of 55 graduates in 2010.

Many of the graduates are working professionals – clinical psychologists, counselors, educators and others – who were able to advance their education through online studies as well as night and weekend classes in University of the Rockies programs. The new graduates range in age from 24 to 66.

More than 100 of the graduates are expected to attend the graduation ceremony, traveling to Colorado Springs from 30 states and three foreign countries. To accommodate graduates, families, friends and media who are unable to attend in person, University of the Rockies will stream the proceedings live on its website and also archive the ceremony for future viewing at rockies.edu/grad_video.

The commencement speech will be delivered by Brigadier General Dana H. Born, dean of faculty at the United States Air Force Academy.
