University of the Rockies will hold its largest-ever commencement ceremony at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 28. The ceremony will be held at Pikes Peak Center in downtown Colorado Springs. The graduating class will comprise 598 students. One hundred graduates from 38 states and Canada are expected to attend the ceremony. The class of 2012 will also include the University’s first online doctoral students to reach graduation. Themed “Live the Life You Imagined,” the commencement will include a retrospective view from the school’s founders. University of the Rockies was founded by faculty members of Chapman University, who decided to continue teaching when Chapman closed its Colorado Springs campus in 1998. The address to the graduates will be delivered by Drs. Lee Gardenswartz and Anita Rowe, internationally acclaimed diversity practitioners. They are considered by many as “the mothers of diversity management work.” The two are principals in the management consulting firm Gardenswartz & Rowe, which has served Harvard Medical School, ABC, Cox Communications, Shell Oil Company, Walt Disney World and Starbucks. Media is invited to cover the graduation event. About University of the Rockies University of the Rockies is an advanced graduate institution for tomorrow’s thought leaders.
