Job satisfaction isn’t good enough. Employees can be satisfied with their jobs, yet feel no commitment to their organization.

Instead, employers should strive for engagement.

“We have to capture the minds and hearts of people in ways that create a genuine attachment and commitment to the organization,” explained Dr. Peter Pintus, core faculty member at University of the Rockies.

Employee engagement is a concept that originated with the U.S. Army during World War II to predict a soldier’s effort and readiness to go to any extent for the well-being of the organization. In today’s business settings, employee engagement is critical to the success of organizations and to the retention of talented professionals. 

University of the Rockies will host a free professional development luncheon on employee engagement on Thursday, Nov. 8 in Denver. Attendees will learn how to provide workers with opportunities to grow, connect and contribute to the life of an organization. The seminar will also cover three ways to develop employee engagement and methods for measurement. 

Lunch and networking will begin at 11:30 a.m. at University of the Rockies in downtown Denver (1201 16^th Street, Suite 110), and will be followed by Pintus’ lecture on employee engagement. There is no cost to attend this event, and lunch will be provided.
