University of the Rockies has been named to the 2013 President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll, the highest federal recognition a college or university can receive for its commitment to volunteering, service-learning and civic engagement. 

The award was announced at the American Council on Education’s annual conference in Washington, D.C. on March 4, 2013.  

The Corporation for National and Community Service, which administers the annual Community Service Honor Roll award, selected University of the Rockies for “general community service.” During the award year, the University contributed thousands of hours of service to the Colorado Springs community. More than 7,000 hours of therapy and mental health services were provided through Rockies Counseling Center. Students and staff also participated in clean-up efforts at a local head start program.
