University of the Rockies students and staff will celebrate University of the Rockies Day on Wednesday, May 5. The celebration will begin at 4:30pm and include dinner. In 2008, Mayor Lionel Rivera proclaimed May 5 as “University of the Rockies Day” in honor of the university’s 10th anniversary. University of the Rockies is a leader in graduate psychology education located in downtown Colorado Springs. The “Mix It Up” dinner will embrace University of the Rockies’ commitment to diversity, as students share a Cinco de Mayo-themed meal with individuals from varied backgrounds and engage in guided discussions about culture and tradition. During the dinner, students and staff will fill piñatas with school supplies that will be donated to the Urban League Child Development Center. A second Mix It Up dinner will also be held on Friday, May 7 to accommodate the university’s weekend students.
