University of the Rockies Faculty and Students Travel to China to Present Research

 

A University of the Rockies faculty member and a doctorate student have traveled to China to present at a series of conferences and meetings March 13 – 28.  

Dr. Jim Oraker, core faculty member in the School of Professional Psychology will present his work along with the research of his students. His presentation schedule includes: 

·         An ethics workshop, a workshop on competency for mental health providers and “Existential and Health Psychology: An East-West Contrast Study of Personal Health Issues Affecting Clergy Competency of U.S. and Chinese Clergy.”

·         “Personal and Health Issues Affecting Clergy Competency: Barriers to Seeking Help and Resources for Denominational Programs to Assist Clergy” based on the work of Dr. Emily Roby, a University of the Rockies alumna.

·         “A Quantitative Research Study Analyzing Responses and Reactions of Personal and Professional Stress-Related Factors That Can Lead to Ministry Stress and Burnout in Chinese Pastors” based on the work of Natalie Williamson, a doctorate student at University of the Rockies.

Doctorate student Elizabeth Saxon will present her research on “Counterfactual Thinking Among Students: An East-West Comparative Between University Students in China and the United States.”
