Dr. David Stephens, dean of the School of Professional Psychology for University of the Rockies, presented “The Recovery Plan: Facilitating Re-entry” at the National Commission on Correctional Healthcare’s summer seminar in Las Vegas, Nev. The seminar brought together national leaders, innovative thinkers and inspiring speakers to discuss how to optimize mental healthcare care for a challenging population. Dr. Stephen’s presentation was based on his experience working with inmate populations. He previously served as the regional director of mental health for Correctional Healthcare Management. He also served as the chief of Behavioral Health Services for the Colorado Department of Corrections.
