University of the Rockies Graduates Largest Class in School's History

University of the Rockies, a graduate school specializing in the social and behavioral sciences, held its largest-ever graduation ceremony on Saturday, August 20.

The ceremony honored 312 students who collectively earned 19 doctorate degrees and 293 master’s degrees in psychology.

“It is exciting to see our online and campus students celebrate the milestone of graduation together,” said Dr. Charlita Shelton, president of University of the Rockies. “All of our students have worked diligently to earn their degrees, and it is an honor to present a hard-earned diploma to each of them.”

Commencement exercises are held once a calendar year for University of the Rockies and this year’s ceremony was the second to include online graduates from the University.

The keynote address was delivered by Brigadier General Dana Born, dean of faculty at the U.S. Air Force Academy. Born is an alumna of the U.S. Air Force Academy with a degree in behavioral sciences. She later completed master’s degrees in both experimental and research psychology and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in industrial and organizational psychology.

Related graduation events included an induction ceremony for Golden Key National Honour Society members and an alumni dinner on Friday, August 19.
