Grand Rounds to Feature the National Alliance on Mental Illness
A free learning opportunity presented by University of the Rockies

The community is invited to attend a Grand Rounds presentation featuring the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) on Friday, August 17. The presentation will begin at 11:30 a.m. in University of the Rockies’ Harvey House Auditorium (555 East Pikes Peak Ave). A light lunch will be provided.

Grand Rounds is an important ritual that is common in medical education. Traditionally, a medical problem is presented to an audience of doctors, interns and students in order to help healthcare professionals stay up-to-date in important evolving areas. At University of the Rockies, students perform research and deliver presentations on an area of psychology or treatment and share the information with the community.

In the August installment of Grand Rounds, Heidi A. Marlatt, a student in the Marriage and Family Therapy specialization, will overview NAMI, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting individuals with mental illness. The presentation will include a panel discussion with NAMI staff, educators and volunteers.

To attend this free presentation and lunch, contact the Rockies Counseling Center by August 13. RSVP to 719.442.0606 or by email to emily.mitchell@rockies.edu.
