University of the Rockies Offers CollegePass Program to Ground-Based Students
Environmentally-friendly program encourages students to utilize public transportation

As a result of a recent partnership between University of the Rockies and Denver’s Regional Transportation District (RTD), students attending classes at the University’s Denver Instructional Site will be eligible to participate in the CollegePass public transportation program. The CollegePass allows free access to Local, Limited, Express, and Regional bus service, light rail service in all fare zones, and free SkyRide bus service to Denver International Airport.

“RTD is pleased to have University of the Rockies join our CollegePass program. There are so many benefits to using public transportation and offering CollegePass will help encourage students to make public transit a part of their lives,” said Julia Marvin, RTD public relations specialist.

The fee for the CollegePass will be built into yearly expenses for students. For students attending University of the Rockies on a military grant, the fee will be credited and they will have no out-of-pocket expenses for the CollegePass. Active duty military personnel already receive free transportation on RTD.

“University of the Rockies is proud to join with RTD to provide our ground-based students access to the CollegePass program. This program gives students the opportunity to utilize public transportation and not have to worry about the hassle of parking in downtown Denver,” said Roger Barbieri, associate director of admissions at University of the Rockies. “This is a tremendous step forward for both our students and the University.”

Current University of the Rockies students can begin participating in the CollegePass program immediately and can talk with their admissions counselor to learn more.
