Dr. Bruce Wampold to Lecture at University of the Rockies

 

Dr. Bruce E. Wampold, renowned researcher, author and professor in psychotherapy, will present “Contextual Psychotherapy: Common Factors in Practice” at University of the Rockies on Thursday, March 11, 2010. The lecture will be held in the Harvey House Auditorium from 7:30-9 p.m.            

As a distinguished visiting faculty member to University of the Rockies, Wampold will introduce the contextual model he developed to explain the benefits of counseling and psychotherapy. The groundbreaking model was first introduced in his book The Great Psychotherapy Debate.

About Bruce Wampold, Ph.D., ABPP

Wampold was trained in mathematics before earning his doctorate degree in Counseling Psychology at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Currently, he is a professor of counseling psychology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Among his many honors and accomplishments, Wampold is a Fellow of the American Psychological Association, a Diplomat in Counseling Psychology of the American Board of Professional Psychology, and a recipient of the 2007 Distinguished Professional Contributions to Applied Research Award from the American Psychological Association. In addition to writing the highly acclaimed book The Great Psychotherapy Debate, Wampold has authored over 100 books, chapters and articles related to counseling, psychotherapy, statistics and research methods.
